In June 1994, EDS established its wholly owned subsidiary in the Czech Republic.
Presently, EDS Czech Republic operates primarily in the following five vertical sectors:
- Financial services
- Government
- Manufacturing
- Telecommunications
- Utilities
The objective of EDS Czech Republic is to help clients improve the bottom line of their core business by applying the latest knowledge and technology and searching for non-traditional solutions.
Used in the Czech market, many of EDS' standard and time-tested solutions have proved to be completely new, and that is why shortly after the establishment of its branch EDS won a number of high-profile tenders in the Czech Republic, both in public and private sectors.
EDS' ability to concentrate on clients' needs, cooperate with the world's leading software and hardware suppliers, and build flexible teams focused on a specific problem, has introduced a completely new quality to the Czech information technology (IT) market.
In 1999, EDS' leadership position in the Czech Republic was further highlighted by the leading Czech IT expert Award The Top 10 Systems Integrator.
Central European Solution Center :
To capitalize on EDS' successful business activities and unique country characteristics, in August 1998 EDS Czech Republic established a Central European Solution Center (CESC) as part of a global network of EDS solution centers. The primary purpose of the CESC is to provide cost-effective and high-quality systems and technical services to EDS' operational units across Europe.Today, CESC employs approximately 100 professionals possessing a wide range of specialized capabilities stretching from COBOL programming to e-business applications. To remain abreast of the technology curve, the CESC employees receive continuing training and education.
